Alcoholic beverage vending machines are fairly common in Japan
and sell everything from beer to sake to shochu (like vodka) to
whisky. There is also a good amount of choice in containers with
cartons, bottles and cans as well as in sizes, ranging up to 2 liter
cans of beer and fifths of whiskey.
The drinking age is 20 years old in Japan, but the vending machines
don't usually check ID. You know these babies wouldn't fly in the
U.S.
